Product Information & Care Guide

Giclée Print

The term “giclée” comes from the French word gicler, meaning “to spray,” referring to the way the ink is applied to paper. && Gallery Giclée prints are printed using 10 archival pigment inks on acid-free 230GSM white matte art paper resulting in richer more accurate colors that resist fade & can last generations.

To ensure the longevity of your print:

  • Do not touch the surface of the print directly to avoid oils from your skin making contact with the print itself. Handle the print by the borders or wear gloves when possible
  • Frame using acid-free matte & backing materials as soon as possible to keep the print safe
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight
  • Clean with a dry cloth

Risograph Print

A risograph print is produced using a Risograph machine, a high-speed digital printer that uses a stencil-based process similar to screen printing. Risograph prints use eco friendly soy-based inks, including metallic & fluorescent inks colors not offered by other digital printing formats. Since each color is applied separately, there can be slight misalignment or “registration” errors, which contribute to the distinctive, imperfect aesthetic.

To ensure the longevity of your print:

  • Do not touch the surface of the print directly & only handle the print by it’s borders as soy-based inks are not permanent & may smear or rub off if handled too roughly
  • Frame using acid-free matte & backing materials as soon as possible to keep the print safe
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight
  • Clean with a dry cloth gently (soy-based inks are not permanent & may smear or rub off if handled too roughly)

Screen Print

A screen print is a printing method where ink is pushed through a mesh screen to transfer a design onto a surface like fabric or paper. The screen is prepared by coating it with a light-sensitive emulsion, exposing it to light with a design, & then washing away the exposed areas to create a stencil. Ink is then applied & forced through the open areas of the screen to print the design. This technique is widely used for producing vibrant, durable prints, especially on T-shirts & other textiles.

To ensure the longevity of your print:

  • Do not touch the surface of the print directly to avoid oils from your skin making contact with the print itself. Handle the print by the borders or wear gloves when possible
