Amongst My Things,
encapsulates the artist’s deep affection for shopping & her insatiable love for trinkets & cute objects, a passion that has nearly taken over her life. This exhibition explores the cyclical nature of consumerism, delving into the inner tension between the fleeting joy these items bring and the financial strain that often accompanies the pursuit of more.
Through vibrant, playful compositions, Mada reflects on her complex relationship with shopping, acknowledging the subtle addiction it fosters. Each piece serves as a meditation on the delicate balance between the happiness derived from these possessions & the underlying stress they impose on her life.
Mada
Mada is an emerging painter based in the NYC area. With a degree in Animation & Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Hong Kong, she has honed her skills in both traditional & digital mediums.
As a young artist, Mada draws heavy influence from anime, video games, & street fashion, elements that shine through in the expressive & cartoony style of her work. Her art is a journey of self-exploration, particularly in understanding her identity as a woman & as an individual. Having hidden away many emotions growing up, Mada is now embracing the opportunity to feel & express them.
Through painting, she is relearning her identity & getting to know herself. Despite the vulnerability that comes with this process, she maintains a light-hearted approach by using vivid colors & catchy phrases. Mada’s work is a vibrant testament to her evolving self- discovery & emotional expression.
